Tutorial 60:55

Favorites & energy

Two areas you build yourself: the Energy panel, from the sensors you pick, and Favorites, your most-used devices from any room.

Tutorial 6: Favorites & energy. The AmazHA mascot next to the title of the tutorial.

Step by step

  1. Turn on the Energy panel

In the AmazHA settings, open Devices › Energy and switch on Show Energy panel.

  2. Pick a sensor for each role

Tap a role, such as Grid power (signed), and pick its sensor: only the sensors that fit the role are listed. Fill in the ones you have, such as solar, battery, and today's use and cost.

  3. Your energy, on the watch

The watch home gets an Energy area. Open it for the grid power right now (importing or exporting), then solar, battery and today's totals.

  4. Turn on Favorites

Back in Devices, open Favorites and switch on Show on watch.

  5. Pick your favorites

Switch on any device from any room, even one you haven't enabled in its room.

  6. Put them in order

Tap Reorder favorites and use the arrows. The watch shows them in this order.

  7. Pinned on top of the watch

Favorites appears first on the watch home, with your devices in your order.

  8. Or make them your home

Switch on Use Favorites as homepage: the watch home becomes your favorites list, and only those devices are loaded. The areas come back when you turn it off.

Good to know

  • The grid: use one signed sensor (positive when you import, negative when you export), or two separate sensors, Grid import and Grid export.
  • A sensor is missing from the list? The list is built when your devices are scanned: after adding it in Home Assistant, tap Refresh device list in Devices.
  • Favorites as your homepage hides the Energy area too. Put an Energy chip at the top of the home to keep it one tap away (next tutorial).
