Tutorial 90:41

Watch sensors

AmazHA also works the other way round: your watch's own data, such as steps, heart rate or battery, becomes sensors in Home Assistant.

Tutorial 9: Watch sensors. The AmazHA mascot next to the title of the tutorial.

Step by step

  1. Open Watch sensors

In the AmazHA settings, tap Watch sensors.

  2. Switch it on

Switch on Send to Home Assistant. Your watch becomes a device in Home Assistant.

  3. Name it, if you like

Entity prefix (optional) names every entity sensor.<prefix>_… Left empty, it uses your watch's name.

  4. Set how often

Update every sets how often the watch sends its data in the background, from 1 to 6 minutes.

  5. Pick the sensors

Switch on the ones you want, from activity, health, environment and device. All of them start off.

  6. Open AmazHA on the watch

The watch asks for Background activity. Allow it, so the updates keep coming when the app is closed.

  7. Find it in Home Assistant

In Home Assistant, go to Settings › Devices & services › Mobile App and open your watch.

Good to know

  • Sent at every open, then in the background, with your phone nearby and the Zepp app running. The Watch sensors screen shows when the last data arrived.
  • Declined the request? Allow it in the watch’s own settings (App permissions, or Privacy, then AmazHA), or switch Send to Home Assistant off and on to be asked again.
  • A sensor never shows up? Each one is sent only with a valid reading: blood oxygen, stress and body temperature once the watch has measured them, air pressure only on watches with a barometer.
